This article located here talks about the occurrences of suicide bombers within Iraq and the police’s ability to prevent these things from occurring. Apparently, equipment exists that would help them find out whether an automobile was transporting a bomb.

I have definite mixed emotions about the Iraqis asking for this equipment. Surely, they definitely probably need this equipment if it works but I definitely don’t think the United States should supply it. Yes, we were part of the problem being over there in the first place but from what I hear we are not responsible for security over there directly. Iraqis now responsible for that.

It seems to me that Iraqi police could afford to purchase this equipment… at least I would think they would. They currently are producing a decent amount of oil currently. They recently made a deal with China that amounts to a few billion dollars transaction for oil in Iraq. It’s possible that his deal was made by some companies within Iraq but even if it was, there should be some kind of fee that’s paid to the government to pay for security needs like this. Iraq will have to fend for itself eventually so why not do all they can right now.

The time is now for the United States to start using money for themselves instead of every other place around the world. We certainly are not in a position right now to fund this and that in every other country. We not only have a high debt amount, but our economy has not been doing well either. Besides, every year we have a huge deficit in the federal government. And, every year we continue to pay taxes which obviously seems to go to waste in increasing amounts.
